Bobby Robare began Martial Arts and Boxing at age 10 for self defense, fighting in amateur boxing matches
amateur Kickboxing matches, and Professional kickboxing fights.
After discharge from the Marines in 1971 Bobby felt that if you want to be good, you have to learn from the best. While living in California he began teaching Karate for the Tracy Organization and learning from the great Joe Lewis, who was the national director.
In 1986 Bobby was given a Muay Thai teaching diploma signed by Thom Harinck and Pud Pad Noi Worawoot
Thom Harinck, who is the owner of the world famous Chakuriki Dojo in Amsterdam. Thom was president of the Dutch Muay Thai Association. Pud Pad Noi Worawoot was the Lumpinee World Muay Thai Champion from 1970-1975.
In 1989 Bobby asked Sensei Thom Harinck for permission to visit and train at the World Famous Mejiro Gym also in Amsterdam. Bobby has been with the Mejiro Gym ever since.
In 2002 Bobby made the representative of the Mejiro Gym in America by Sensei Andre Mannaart.
In 2013 Bobby was given the Mejiro Gym Sensei Diploma with the Kurosaki Dojo stamp from Japan. Sensei Kurosaki was the first non-thai to defeat a real Lumpinee World Champion this was in 1969.
Bobby has trained a lot of students and fighters who have fought in the UFC, Bellator, M1 Global, IKF and many other organizagions.
Reflecting back after 60 plus years in Martial Arts going from student, to fighter, to teacher, to trainer, to mentor, Bobby always says "fighting is like life and life is like fighting. It has its ups and downs but as any teacher
knows the greatest reward we get back is watching a student, sometimes shy, sometimes arrogant, grow to become a humble and respectful man or woman. Not everyone will or should become a fighter, but I truly believe everyone should participate in some form of Martial Arts and make it a life style. Osu."
