Troy Ragano started his nearly 40-year martial arts journey in 1982 at the University of Florida. Under the guidance of Sensei Mike Sawyer & Sensei Mike McCoy, he achieved his brown belt in Wado-Ryu Karate before leaving Gainesville. Since then, he has continued to study various disciplines of martial arts earning himself black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, both under Master Hank Giles (late 80s-early90s); a brown belt in Judo under Professor Ed Maley (mid-90s-2001); a black belt in American kickboxing under Orlando "The Warrior" Rivera (2005-present); and most recently a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Master Rob Kahn and Master Matt Arroyo (2007-present).
Owner and operator of Southern Tire Company, a successful automotive center that has been a reputable Tampa Bay staple for over half a century, Troy has been a constant pillar of support within the MMA community. He has been a continuous sponsor for numerous events such as the RFC, WCFL, COPA Grappling, MMAC Grappling, and the Warrior Classic, to name a few. It was Troys’s passion for MMA that in 2012 led to the inspiration for No Judges Needed, a clothing and lifestyle brand that promotes positivity and the belief that one should never leave any decisions to the judges, both in MMA and in life. A belief that we all control our destiny and that with dedication, hard work, and passion, anything can be possible. Through starting No Judges Needed, Troy has been able to further his support within the MMA community by sponsoring many amateur and pro fighters and events throughout North America. Due to his generosity and continued commitment to the Martial Arts Community, Troy Ragano is being inducted into the Florida State Martial Arts Hall of Fame, class of 2020.
